Hello! I’m Van Malone, a passionate journalist and skilled videographer with a deep commitment to storytelling through both written and visual media. My work spans a diverse range of topics, from compelling news and sports stories to dynamic video features and engaging multimedia content. Thanks to my background in broadcast journalism, sports media, and videography I am able to specialize in creating content that not only informs but also resonates with audiences on a personal level. I am a graduate of the University of North Texas with a B.A in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Communications. During my time in college, I have found my passion for producing. I love the ability to have my fingerprints on a show and develop new ways to best give the audience an engaging, informative show. I also am proficient in video editing and making music.
Since graduating, I have produced sports content for both major markets of Dallas and Houston while working for the company Gameday Productions. I am currently a producer for the show Inside High School sports in Houston, which airs on KHOU11 at 11 pm. on Saturdays. I have always prided myself on my willingness to learn, and when I don't know something I work until I am a master at it. I am adaptable to almost any environment and I thrive on thinking on my toes. I have a burning passion for sports, and a growing love for the news and entertainment environments. What sets me apart is my drive. My passion for what I do combined with my willingness to learn makes me a positive addition to any newsroom or media staff.
